A few facts

  1. Average life expectancy of a child caught up in sex slavery: 5 years.
  2. Most of the parents were tricked into letting their children go.
  3. It doesn’t take much imagination to visualize the hell they go through every day.
  4. Circa 2013, a new child gets pulled into sex slavery somewhere in the world every 26 seconds.

How this trip will bear fruit in the fight to help these children:

  1. Spend three full days with the US Marketing Director (the Mission Trip Team Leader) enhancing the 2014 Strategy for Core Fundraising
  2. Advanced Social Media training for the Social Media Team in Chiang Rai
  3. Awesome pictures (of course, right!?!?) and video clips
  4. Make at least one very effective Viral Video
  5. Possibly visit the child Diane and I are sponsoring
  6. Encourage my fellow teammates on the trip

This could be the intersection of a lot of very, very cool things. But none of this will happen without people like you backing me. Please help me help them. Thanks in advance.

The Plea

Some of you are my family and friends. Some of you are my work associates, past & present. And some of you were referred to this page by my family, friends, and work associates. I’m asking you to help children caught in the sex trade around the world. Help them by helping me.

Please make a one-time donation to Destiny Rescue. Help me help them. Please take 2 minutes and, as my dad used to say, “Do it now.” Please dig deep for them.

Your financial support will help answer what seems like a divine opportunity to “Go and See” firsthand what Destiny Rescue is doing to reclaim, restore, and prevent children caught up in human trafficking.

The Past

I heard about Destiny Rescue via my church at the beginning of 2012.

I was asked to meet with Peter Everett the COO of DR-USA, in April 2013.

He introduced me to the Social Media team in May.

I then started a pro bono monthly conference call with the SM Team in June 2013.

I went to HubSpot Inbound13 in August and was overwhelmed with desire to help DR. (Read about what happened.)

The very next week, the SM Team then asked me to consider a Mission Trip. “Why don’t you come over here? We’ve got a trip coming up in November.”

I thought, “Really, Thailand? OK, let’s take it up a notch! This is where the rubber meets the road.”

So I asked God about it. Then I asked some trusted advisers who said, in general, “If it’s meant to be, it shouldn’t be hard to raise the $2700.”  I looked at the calendar and asked a client to move a prearranged Social Tech meeting already set for the week of 11/16. Done.

So there you have it. Since my schedule was cleared, I sent in my deposit for the trip.

So now I just need to raise the rest of the funds – about $2000. The funding deadline is 10/25.

The Future

The Agenda for the trip includes the following approximate schedule:

11/15-16 Travel (lose a day flying west over the Pacific)
11/18 Walk a street in Thailand where the brothels are
11/19-20 Visit After-care Homes in Chiang Mai
11/21 Visit HQ in Chiang Rai
11/22 Strategy Session with the Social Media Team
11/23-24 Return trip

Along the way, I will capture tons of media. In December, I will make at least one powerful video to be used to raise funds for After-care Operations. I will also engage with the US and Australian Funding Nation Teams to assist in developing a cohesive strategy for securing donors using viral marketing.

Built on their work getting to this point, 2014 and beyond holds great promise for Destiny Rescue. I’m optimistic that I will be a positive factor, all the while continuing to help insurance companies around the world with their Social Tech Strategies as well.

By the way, if you want to join me on this trip, when I last checked, they can probably take a couple more people.

A verse my son used during his deployment to Afghanistan this year:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

Seems to apply.
