E-Commerce with an emphasis on Social Technologies
I’m really looking for ward to the Professional Insurance Marketing Association (PIMA) 2007 Summer Conference, July 26-29 at Stoweflake Resort, VT.
I’ll be presenting a case study of the wildly successful www.communitycarerx.com Web site, winner of the Best of PIMA Award. The site, designed and developed by IdeaStar, features the Medicare-approved drug plan of our client MemberHealth. Site visitors can sign-up for the program, locate participating pharmacies, view various plan details relative to their home state, look up drug prices in their area, review policies and procedures, and more.
The site was developed and launched in six weeks — a very short timeline. In that first round of enrollments from the end of 2005 through mid-2006, MemberHealth ranked as the nation’s fourth largest Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Provider with over 1 million enrollments, about 10 percent of which were derived online.

I’m also really excited about Stoweflake Resort. Life magazine tagged it as one of its top 100 places to visit. It sounds like a photographer’s dream. I hope to be posting some pictures and doing a few podcasts while I’m there. So check back to see what’s new.
I’m also excited to be taking a tour of the Ben and Jerry’s ice cream manufacturing plant (free samples?), wine and cheese tastings, and maybe even a hot air balloon ride. And yes, I will be working.
One other item: As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a quad-chair for the 2007 PIMA MarkeTTech Symposium November 11-13 in Chicago. I’ve arranged for Jon Kaplan, Industry Director of Google’s Financial Services channel, to be the keynote speaker. He’ll be bringing a lot of strategic and tactical advice to the conference.I hope to see you at both events. You can’t beat a PIMA conference for insurance networking and learning what’s new in the industry.
